Please note - the ghostwalk begins on the 8th May at 6pm outside Bourke's bar, Catherine Street and lasts for one hour
The ghosttalk runs from 7-9pm on the 8th May in the basement of Bourke's bar.
As part of ev+a, the Limerick art festival, SpiritStore are organising a cultural dig in Catherine Street, Limerick. To contribute to this, we want to document the tales of the ghostly and the macabre gathered about Limerick or told by people based in Limerick.
In order to do this, we are putting together a list of stories to tell, contributed by you, the readers, which will become the focal point of the event. We're asking you to e-mail your name and the title of your story to [email protected] or to post this information up on our blog -/ghosttalk---what-story-will-you-tell.html. This information will then be used to generate a list of stories and storytellers, which will form the backbone of the ghosttalk.
We're also asking for information on hauntings and peculiar goings-on in Limerick for the ghostwalk. again, these can be sent by e-mail or posted on the blog at /ghostwalk---send-in-your-haunting-tales.html
The main event - the ghostwalk and ghosttalk - will take place in Limerick on the 8th May 2010. In the course of the evening, there will be a ghostwalk, an evening tour of Limerick city centre, with accompanying tales told at various points of the ghost trail.
The tour will then conclude in the basement of Bourke's bar, where the ghosttalk session will begin. The idea is to use the old folkloric method of oral storytelling to create a night of haunting tales. These stories will be recorded and used as an archive of Limerick ghost-stories in 2010.
